Who am I?
Michael Gogel, is 28 years of age and brings over nine years experience in marketing, event management, hospitality and digital media. Michael is a dedicated experiential marketing professional with a demonstrated creative and strategic background. A trend spotter and results-oriented with a background in strategy development and successful program management-implementation, Michael has guided and shaped organizations within the industry by developing sustainable market positions.
Mr. Gogel founded PPX World in 2008 with the vision of creating the leading Lifestyle and Brand Marketing Production Company for both individuals and businesses and has produced events of all sizes for a varied list of clients.
Most recently, Mr. Gogel is developing Nightlife Week, a citywide yearly event designed to elevate the Nightlife Industry and bring together patrons and operators in New York City and beyond. Michael is also working on launching a second business, a startup called The Permanent Guestlist, a private members club operating online as an exclusive portal offering a huge range of perks and privileges based on personalized member interests and personality types.
Prior, Gogel was instrumental in the 2009 successful re-launch and rebranding of the Union Square Lounge located below the legendary Coffee Shop in New York’s Union Square. It is still today a popular New York City destination.
Between 2008 and 2009 he was active in the launch and development of Bijoux as a successful private nightclub, and Merkato 55 a restaurant known as much for its notorious for its brunch scene, as its famed top Chefs Marcus Samuelsson and Angelo Sosa.
Michael played an important role in the success of Lotus and The Double Seven – two prestigious New York City Supperclubs and VIP Specialty Cocktail Lounges between 2004 and 2008 – both in increasing revenues and exposing the brands internationally. During that time he was also active in the realization of Groovedeck at B.E.D New York a seasonal outdoor event concept two consecutive summers in 2005 and 2006, the launch of The Inn LW 12 a Gastro-Pub in 2007 and Los Dados a high-profile Mexican restaurant in 2007.
Prior to officially entering the Nightlife Industry, Michael Gogel held several internships working for Ogilvy PR and Grupo Albión Financial in 2003, Apple Computers Europe in 2002, Karavel.com and Microsoft Europe in 2001 in the Public Relations, Marketing, Events departments.
Michael Gogel moved from Paris, France to New York City in 2002 to further his studies and found out quickly that he needed to find a local outlet for his passion and vision for nightlife. He graduated in 2005 from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Studies with a concentration in Entrepreneurship, Business, Public Relations, and Design. Throughout his studies, he put into practice the early stages of his vision for all these businesses.
Today, Michael Gogel regularly keeps up with developments in the industry, conferences, events, technology and innovations to continually improve his business services and cultivate his ideas.
Michael Gogel is a social person, ready to make new encounters and build new relationships. Through his international background and extensive travels, Michael brings his valuable experiences and contacts to all these businesses.
He is also highly ambitious, and in 2013 will come with his first book on Nightlife, what he likes to call: ‘A Scientific Approach to Nightlife’
